1. Introduction

Mushroom Identifier ("the App") is developed by Bulpara Inc. This privacy policy explains how the App collects, uses, and protects your data when you use our AI-powered mushroom identification service.

2. Information We Collect

When you use the App, you submit photos of mushrooms for AI analysis. These photos are transmitted securely to our servers for processing. That photo is the only thing we receive.

Your scan results (species, risk class, look-alike warnings, habitat notes) and your scan history are stored only on your device. We keep no copy of them on our servers, and they are not synced to any account or to your other devices.

We do not collect:

• Advertising or analytics identifiers — the App contains no ad SDK and no tracking of any kind
• Crash or diagnostic data — no crash-reporting or analytics SDK is included in the App
• Per-user or per-device identifiers for rate limiting — our rate limit is applied server-wide, not keyed to you

3. How We Use Your Data

Your mushroom photos are sent to our backend API, which forwards them to a third-party AI model (Replicate) for species identification. We use your data solely to provide the mushroom identification service.

4. Location Data — We Do Not Collect It

The App does not request, collect, or store your location. Because the places people find mushrooms are sensitive, GPS and other EXIF metadata are stripped from every photo on your device, before the image is uploaded. Our servers never receive the coordinates of your find.

5. Camera Access

The App requests camera access to capture photos of mushrooms for analysis. You may also select existing photos from your gallery. Photos are transmitted to our servers exclusively for AI scanning and are not used for any other purpose.

6. Data Storage & Retention

• Uploaded photos are stored on Cloudflare R2 and automatically deleted within 30 days
• Scan results are stored locally on your device via SwiftData — we do not keep a copy on our servers
• No account or personal information (name, email, etc.) is required to use the App

7. Subscription Data

Premium subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store. We verify subscription status via signed StoreKit transactions to unlock premium features but do not receive, process, or store any payment information. Subscription management is handled entirely by Apple.

8. Third-Party Services

• Replicate AI (mushroom identification model processing)
• Cloudflare R2 (temporary secure image storage)

9. Data Security

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
• API authentication via secure API keys
• Rate limiting to prevent abuse (100 requests per minute per device)
• Temporary images stored on Cloudflare R2 with access controls and automatic deletion

10. Data Deletion

You can delete individual scans from the History screen at any time. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. Server-side images are auto-deleted within 30 days; to request immediate deletion of any residual data, contact us at the email below.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
